Wood County Parks & Nature Preserves

The following list of parks and preserves includes those managed by federal, state, county, and non-governmental agencies (such as the National Audubon Society, the Nature Conservancy, various historical societies, etc.).

We have tried to collect information on the activities and facilities available at various parks, but things may change without us knowing about it. So please double-check the information at the official site (click on the park’s name to go there).

Adam Phillips Pond (County Park)

• Location: Gypsy Lane Rd. behind W.C. Justice Center Complex
• Park size: 9.5 acres
• Fishing (check the official site to see if there are any restrictions)

Baldwin Woods Preserve (County Park)

• 14080 Range Line Road, Weston, Ohio
• Park size: 124 acres
• Hunting when in season with license. Please visit park web site for details.
• Closed to the public during various hunting season; see official sites for dates when closed. There are no established trails, but people can roam the preserve at will. Habitats include a mix of woodlands, grasslands and wetland.

Beaver Creek Preserve (County Park)

• 23028 Long Judson Road, Grand Rapids, Ohio
• Park size: 18 acres
• Fishing (check the official site to see if there are any restrictions)
• Astronomical observation program with large telescope. Habitats include pond, sedge meadows, wet floodplain woods and brush areas.

Bradner Preserve (County Park)

• 11540 Timmons Road, Bradner, Ohio
• Park size: 228 acres
• Habitats include a mature woodlot, sand dunes, grasslands and remnant prairie with nature trails throughout.

Buttonwood / Betty C Black Recreation Area (County Park)

• 27174 Hull Prairie Road, Perrysburg, Ohio
• Park size: 23 acres

Carter Historic Farm (County Park)

Van Tassel & Missionary Island (State Wildlife Area)

W W Knight Nature Preserve (County Park)
