Hancock County Parks & Nature Preserves

The following list of parks and preserves includes those managed by federal, state, county, and non-governmental agencies (such as the National Audubon Society, the Nature Conservancy, various historical societies, etc.).

We have tried to collect information on the activities and facilities available at various parks, but things may change without us knowing about it. So please double-check the information at the official site (click on the park’s name to go there).



Blanchard River Greenway Bike Trail (Bike Path)

  • Asphalt-paved multi-use path for cyclists, skaters, skateboarders, walkers, and joggers. Wheelchair accessible.
Blue Rock Nature Preserve (County Park)

  • Nature trail with a gravel/woodchip surface.

Findlay Reservoir Area (City Reservoir)

LMW Heritage Trail Center (Multi-use trail)

  • Location: The trail is located in Findlay; it starts at LMW Heritage Trail Center passes by the Van Horn Cementery and along the Blanchard River Greenway Trails

  • Include 2.5–bridle trail, plus a 0.8 portion of the Heritage Trail
Litzenberg Memorial Woods (County Park)

  • There is a living history staff recreating farm life in the 1800s at a site in this park. There are also nature walks, including trails that are wheelchair accessible.

Oakwoods Nature Preserve (County Park)
