September Wildflowers

Below are a couple of dozen wildflowers that I photographed last month. I have numbered all the photos, so you can refer to the flower’s number if you want to talk about a specific one. I haven’t been able to identify all of them, so if you see one that you recognize please leave me a comment. Oh, and if you think I’ve misidentified any, I’d love to hear from you.

(9) White Heath Aster
(10) Smartweed
(11) Great Blue Lobelia
(12) This may be Southern Horse Balm (Collinsonia tuberosa)
(13) Hollow Joe-Pye weed (Eupatorium fistulosum)
(14) I think this is Smooth False Foxglove (Aureolaria laevigata)
(15) Hedge Bindweed (Calystegia sepium)
(16) This may be Hairy Skullcap (Scutellaria elliptica)
(17) Cucumber bug on Evening Primrose (Oenothera biennis)
(18) Downy Lobelia (Lobelia puberula) – with hidden bugs
(19) Downy Creeping Bush Clover (Lespedeza procumbens)
(20) Bouncing Bet (Saponaria officinalis), also known as Soapwort
(21) Butterfly Weed – a type of milkweed
(22) Axillary goldenrod (Solidago caesia)
(23) Rose Pink (Sabatia angularis)
(24) Rose Pink (Sabatia angularis)
(25) I think this is might be Tick Trefoil (Desmodium)

    1. Thanks, FeyGirl. I had been saving up photos for a September Wildflower post, In the end I wondered the post had too many photos (and bunches were left on the cutting room floor!).
